The
Energy Division has low-interest loans available for the
purposes of financing energy conservation measures for public
and private sectors. Loans are available at 4% interest for
borrowers to install energy conservation measures and generate
savings that will pay for the measures in 10 years or less.
Eligible measures for the
residential sector are ceiling, floor and crawl space
insulation, space heating replacements which result in more
energy-efficient systems, some water heating upgrades, and wood
heat systems. Eligible measures for projects other than homes
include insulation, energy-efficient lighting, energy-efficient
doors, and retrofitting pumps and motors. Other energy
conservation measures may be eligible. The program also covers
loans for renewable resource energy projects, such as solar
energy, wind power, geothermal, and biomass energy resources and
cogeneration. Projects must utilize existing, reliable
technologies. Expert staff are available to provide potential
borrowers technical assistance with projects. For more
