Innovative partnership is a model for other public sector renewable
energy programs
San José Unified School District recently announced that it has
entered into a unique partnership with Chevron Energy Solutions and Bank
of America to establish what is believed to be the largest solar power
and energy-efficient facilities program in K-12 education in the United
States.
The project includes installation of five megawatts of solar power
and is expected to save the district $15 million, or about one-third of
current energy costs at the four participating schools, over the 25-year
life of the power system.
